LIVE IT
Do you regularly pray for God’s will to be done in your life? Why or why not?
Why do you think the Lord’s Prayer starts with prayers glorifying God and seeking His Kingdom instead of lifting up our requests onto the Lord? How can we apply this to all of our prayers?

#2: The Supplication
Matthew 6:11-13 ESV
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.
Amen
TAKE IT IN
Discuss the meaning of the “daily bread.” What are we really requesting the Lord?
What kind of debt are we in?
DIG IT
Why do we need to forgive another's debt for the forgiveness of our debt? (Ref. Matthew 6:14-15)
What kind of temptations do you face? How can we be delivered from temptation and evil?
We say “Amen” all the time. What does it really mean?
[A Little Extra]
“Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.” recited with the Lord’s Prayer by most Christians is not included in the prayer Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:9-13. While it is perfectly sound theologically, it was a later addition for worship recitation purposes in the early church. You can recite it or leave it!
